I was surprised at the magnitude of danger that these viruses come with. One thing led to another and you end up bleeding on the floor and NOT dying. You lay on the stretcher bleeding, feeling the pain, and NOT dying. I was surprised that the virus was not only horrific, but also evil. It mocks you; it makes you feel internal and external pain on all levels and doesn't let you leave this world. I always thought that these viruses would cause an instantaneous death, but no. They tantalize you with death, leaving you with a crippled life. Monet probably wanted to die.
What fascinated me was that there was a chain reaction. You touch an animal, then another and you end up catching one of the deadliest diseases in the world, at the time. Once you catch it, there is no way to be free of the curse. Monet's reactions fascinated me; his actions were so descriptive. It really highlighted the evil that comes with the virus.
