Chlorophyll takes in the sunlight which allows the plant to perform
photosynthesis. Through the process of photosynthesis (6CO2 + 6H2O ---> C6H12O6 + 6CO2) the sugars are made here. Photosynthesis is the process of carbon dioxide + water turning into sugars and oxygen with the access to sunlight. Without chlorophyll,
there would be no sugars made.
