In regards to animals, the scientists decide when and who they have children with. The animals that are being tested on have no say. They are just little toys for the scientists. This is why companies for say shampoo and makeup test their products on animals; they don't have say on it. It is more efficient, but heartless. If a clone originates from an existing person, who is the parent?
The parent is the parent of whom the clone came from. The clone's DNA is exactly the same from the existing person and the existing person's DNA comes from its parents. Transitively, the clone's parents are the existing person's parents.
